(Minnehaha County, SD) — Minnehaha County is paying more than expected for a pair of new Freightliner trucks because of tariffs. Yesterday, the commission approved an extra 30 thousand dollars to cover the new tariffs, coming out to 15-thousand more per truck. The Freightliners were originally approved last year for 133-thousand each. Highway Superintendent Jacob Maras says international tariffs raised prices, and the contracts signed do allow for the increases.
