(Mitchell, SD) — A missing swimmer is confirmed dead after search crews found his body in the James River near Mitchell Saturday night. The Davison County Sheriff’s Office says 28-year-old Juan Carlos Oballe Ixquiactap [[ Icks – qui – ahc – tap ]] of Sioux Falls drowned Friday afternoon after going swimming with friends. Crews searched the river with boats, drones, and on foot after the initial 9-1-1 call came in just after 4:15 p.m. The search was called off late Friday night, then again Saturday due to weather. But around 5:20 Saturday evening, someone spotted a body in the river. Officials used a drone to confirm it and pulled Oballe’s body from the water. His family later identified him. Multiple local agencies took part in the search.
