(Bismarck, ND) — A statewide disaster declaration is active in North Dakota. Governor Kelly Armstrong activated the State Emergency Operations Plan after deadly tornadoes and other severe weather wreaked havoc on Friday. Weather officials confirmed at least two tornadoes near Enderlin and Spiritwood, with three residents confirmed dead. All state agencies will utilize their response and recovery resources to assist impacted residents. Local and tribal officials will also receive assistance for service and infrastructure restoration. Meteorologist Dan Riddle is with the Grand Forks Weather Service office says it appears there were as many as 10 to 15 tornadoes across the state Friday night.
