(Washington, DC) — South Dakota leaders are backing the U.S. strikes on nuclear sites in Iran over the weekend. South Dakota’s U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson says on social media that President Trump is showing peace through strength, and calls the strikes precise and necessary. Senator Mike Rounds agreed, calling Iran’s nuclear ambitions a threat to both the U.S. and Israel. He says Trump did the right thing. Senate Majority Leader John Thune says Iran has rejected diplomacy, and action was needed to stop them from getting a nuclear weapon. Homeland Security Secretary and former South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem also shared support for Trump on social media, adding that the U.S. will work nonstop to keep Americans safe.
