(Las Vegas, NV) — The Athletics are beginning to build their new stadium in Las Vegas. The A’s celebrated the groundbreaking of the franchise’s new Las Vegas stadium on Monday. The 1.75-billion-dollar, 33-thousand-person capacity ballpark is expected to be finished prior to the start of the 2028 season. Nevada and Clark County have already approved up to 380-million-dollars in public funds for the stadium. The stadium will be built on nine acres of the 35-acre site owned by Bally’s on the corner of Tropicana Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard. It will be Major League Baseball’s smallest stadium.
