Group Touring State To Rally Support For Passenger Rail

(Undated) — A new push is rolling through South Dakota to bring passenger rail service back to the state. The group All Aboard Northwest is touring South Dakota this week for its “Train Trek” presentations, holding community meetings to talk about what a return of long-distance train service could look like and how people can help make it happen. Co-founder Dan Bilka says South Dakotans need to speak up now while federal transportation funding is being drafted. Meetings are happening all week across the state. Supporters hope local voices will help put South Dakota back on the passenger rail map.
