(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota’s Insurance and Securities Departments are merging. North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Jon Godfread called it a milestone moment for the state during yesterday’s announcement. Godfread said the merger will better protect North Dakotans and strengthen oversight capabilities. The decision came after the state Senate passed a resolution during last year’s session, which allows Godfread to assume both roles as insurance and securities commissioner.
