(Burleigh County, ND) — Administrative changes are moving forward in the Burleigh County auditor and treasurer offices. Yesterday, county commissioners passed a preliminary resolution to split the roles after Mark Splonskowski faced accusations of misconduct and mishandling county funds. Commissioners were considering removing the current Burleigh County Auditor and Treasurer from his elected offices. However, State Attorney General Drew Wrigley and Governor Kelly Armstrong recently announced they would not have Splonskowski removed, and instead allow him to be judged by future elections.
