Over 4,000 ND Drivers Cited During Seatbelt Enforcement Campaign

(Fargo, ND) — Over four thousand drivers have been cited during the state’s seatbelt enforcement period. North Dakota law enforcement agencies participated in the nationwide ‘Click It or Ticket’ campaign between May 1st and June 2nd to emphasize safe driving habits. Nearly two-thousand-900 drivers were ticketed for failure to wear a safety belt. Other citations included speeding or improper child restraint. Officials say that data from 2024 showed 47-percent of motor vehicle deaths in the state were linked to unbuckled drivers or passengers.
