(Minot, ND) — State officials are offering prescribed burns to North Dakota landowners. The state Prescribed Fire Cooperative says prescribed burning helps reduce invasive species while providing nutrients to the soil. The burns are planned six months to a year in advance of the scheduled date. Officials urge property owners to schedule prescribed burning every three to 14 years, depending on environmental needs.
