Brookings Police Release Cause of Death for SDSU Football Player

(Brookings, SD) — Brookings Police now say a medical emergency caused the sudden death of South Dakota State football player Nate White. The 20-year-old sophomore running back from Wisconsin was found unresponsive at his Brookings home the morning of June 25th. Investigators determined White’s death was of natural causes after the medical event disrupted his breathing and heart. An autopsy with a toxicology report was reviewed, and there was no sign of foul play. White had transferred to SDSU in January and was majoring in interdisciplinary studies.
