(Burleigh County, ND) — A trial is underway for a former North Dakota National Guard member accused of sexual assault. Daniel Carpenter faces felony gross sexual imposition and sexual assault charges for an alleged incident that happened in June 2023. Two female National Guard members outranked by Carpenter accused him of assaulting them at the former Ramkota Hotel in Bismarck. Carpenter faces up to 20 years in prison and a year in jail for his pending charges.
