Avera Sacred Heart Gets $3.8M for Women’s Addiction Treatment Center

(Yankton, SD) — Governor Larry Rhoden announces three-point-eight million dollars in state funding to help Avera Sacred Heart Hospital build a new treatment facility for women battling addiction in Yankton. The 18-bed center will focus on supporting pregnant and young mothers in need of residential substance use therapy. Avera will own the facility and partner with Lewis and Clark Behavioral Health to provide care, with oversight from the Department of Social Services. Officials say the goal is to create a safe, healing environment where women can begin recovery and rebuild their lives.
