(Helena, MT) — Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is proposing new regulations for wolf hunting and trapping. It would increase Montana’s wolf harvest quota to 500. Last season’s quota was 334. Hunters and trappers ended up harvesting 297 wolves. FWP says, if the full new quota of 500 is met, the state’s wolf population would stay above 550. Officials are planning to present the proposal to the state on August 21st, one month from today.
