(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota lawmakers will hold a special session in September focused on the future of the state’s new prison. Plans for the meeting are expected to focus on discussing and passing legislation to formally locate and fund the facility. The special session comes after months of work by the Project Prison Reset task force.
