State Employee Released From Custody After Accused Of Impersonating Trooper

(Minneapolis, MN) — A Minnesota state employee accused of impersonating a state trooper is no longer behind bars. Cristian Orea faces four misdemeanor charges. Authorities say the defendant was allegedly drunk at a Minneapolis restaurant when he told staff that he was with the Minnesota State Patrol. Orea is a Capitol Security Officer, who is a non-sworn member assigned to the Capitol complex. He is currently on leave. Orea is expected back in court on July 29th.
