(Washington, DC) — President Trump is giving his input on South Dakota’s 2026 Senate race early, endorsing Republican Senator Mike Rounds. It comes even though Rounds hasn’t officially said he’s running for reelection. Trump calls Rounds a fighter for South Dakota values, farmers, the economy, and the military. Rounds thanked Trump on social media and hinted an official campaign launch is coming soon. Meanwhile, Democrat Julian Beaudion and independent Brian Bengs, who’ve each raised over 70-thousand dollars, slammed the endorsement. Beaudion said it proves Rounds is out of touch with everyday South Dakotans. The primary is set for June 2nd next year ahead of the general election in November.
