(Benson County, ND) — A Benson County chief deputy faces multiple felony charges for tampering allegations. Charges were filed late last week against Travis Carlson related to arrests he made while working for the Benson County Sheriff’s Office. The charges accuse Carlson of multiple incidents of falsifying Probable Cause and his jurisdiction to conduct arrests, while also refusing to perform duty. The Benson Sheriff’s Office says Carlson is no longer employed with the department. Carlson posted bail after a preliminary hearing last Friday.
