Hall of Fame Baseball Player Sandberg Dead At 65

(Undated) — Baseball Hall of Fame second baseman Ryne Sandberg died Monday at the age of 65. Sandberg played 15 of his 16 big league seasons for the Chicago Cubs, for whom he made 10 All-Star Games, won nine Gold Glove Awards, seven Silver Sluggers and was named the National League’s Most Valuable Player in 1984. His number 23 is retired by the Cubs and a statue of him was unveiled outside Wrigley Field last summer.
