(Hudson, SD) — Southeast South Dakota and Northwest Iowa begin recovery efforts after Monday’s powerful storms. The town of Hudson faced wind gusts of over 90 miles an hour. The storm tore down trees, damaged buildings, and knocked out power for many residents. Governor Rhoden visited Hudson Tuesday to see the destruction firsthand. Despite the damage, no one was hurt. Officials say a tornado warning likely gave people enough time to take cover and stay safe.
