Rapid City Mayor Unveils 2026 Budget

Rapid City

(Rapid City, SD) — Rapid City Mayor Jason Salamun has rolled out a 337-million-dollar budget plan with a focus on community well-being. Speaking to the City Council Monday night, Salamun said true growth is measured by how well families and children are doing, not just the size of the budget. The proposal highlights Rapid City’s strengths, challenges, and future opportunities, with healthcare now leading the local economy. Most of the city’s revenue still comes from sales tax. Rapid City Council has until September 30th to finalize the budget.
