(Bismarck, ND) — Tens of thousands of North Dakotans will be affected by federal changes to food benefits. Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits will suffer nearly 300 billion dollars in cuts over the next decade. This comes after the Big Beautiful Bill was passed by Congress earlier this month. North Dakota officials say thousands of low-income individuals and families will now have stricter access to resources due to mandatory paperwork and new eligibility rules imposed by the bill.
