(Fargo, ND) — A new emergency system for Indigenous adults is launching tomorrow. The Feather Alert system will be used to send out advisories to the public to help locate Indigenous adults. Officials say it will only be sent for Indigenous adults who have been abducted or are believed to be at imminent risk of serious injury or death. Reports show that Indigenous people go missing at a rate ten times higher than any other racial background in the United States. The new system was introduced after the state legislature passed the bill earlier this year.
