(Bismarck, ND) — Later this month North Dakota schools will ban students from having cell phones in classrooms. It’s part of the state’s effort to remove distractions and promote more socialization among students. Governor Kelly Armstrong made the “bell-to-bell” cell phone ban a high priority when he was sworn into office back in December. Mandan Public Schools Superintendent Doctor Carly Retterath said the expectation is that students will not have cell phones on them from the morning bell through dismissal, including during lunch times and free periods.
