Deere Rolls Out $195 Diagnostics Tool as Right-to-Repair Debate Intensifies

Repair rights in agriculture are facing a pivotal moment as John Deere introduces a new $195 diagnostics tool for farmers. While most growers are familiar with the biological and chemical threats to corn yields, another battle has emerged—this time over the right and ability to repair farm equipment. In a move that appears to respond directly to antitrust concerns raised in the ongoing FTC v. John Deere right-to-repair lawsuit, the company has launched an updated digital service platform designed to expand equipment owners’ access to diagnostics and repair resources.

The new tool, called Operations Center PRO Service, is available through the John Deere Operations Center app to equipment owners in the U.S. and Canada. Deere says the platform allows owners to access critical repair diagnostics and service data for their machinery, making maintenance and repairs more accessible. The tool is available via annual subscription, starting at $195 per machine. According to Deere, the development of Operations Center PRO Service is intended to further support customers in performing their own repairs.
