Pierre, S.D.- South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks announced on Monday that Custer State Park will implement a partial closure of the Sylvan Lake Shore Trail. The section of the trail from Sunday Gulch to the north—just beyond the rock formations—will be temporarily closed to allow contractors to complete necessary work along the dam side of the trail.
This closure is similar to last year’s, and is part of ongoing efforts to maintain and preserve the popular trail area for long-term public use and safety. Visitors can still enjoy the remaining portions of the Sylvan Lake Shore Trail during this time. Trail closure signage will be posted, and park staff will be available to answer any questions.
