AstraZeneca Files Suit Against ND For Discounted Drugs Access

(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota is being sued for a new law that expands access to discounted drugs. House Bill 1473 was passed earlier this year to prevent drug makers from denying, restricting, or prohibiting patients from accessing prescription meds at discounted prices from pharmacies. AstraZeneca is now suing the state, arguing that the law exceeds federal rules and obstructs companies from checking how their discounted drugs are being sold. AstraZeneca is the second drug maker to sue North Dakota over the law, following AbbVie’s lawsuit earlier this year.
