(Los Angeles, CA) — Shohei Ohtani now has one-thousand hits in his Major League Baseball career. He did it with a two-run home run in the third inning of Wednesday’s game against the St. Louis Cardinals. He was also the starting pitcher, allowing one run on two hits and striking out a season-high eight batters. The visiting Cardinals rallied late to beat the Dodgers 5-3. Ohtani is now the third Japanese-born MLB player with a thousand hits, joining Ichiro Suzuki and Hideki Matsui.
