(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota is brewing up something special for America’s 250th birthday. It’s a commemorative beer called Dakota Liberty. State historian Ben Jones says the beer will be officially unveiled August 30th at the South Dakota State Fair in Huron, with sampling to follow at the Tap Haus nearby. The name of the brewery behind it is still under wraps, but the beer will be available throughout the fair and beyond. A portion of the proceeds will support the state’s America 250th Commission, which is planning celebrations and historic projects leading up to the nation’s big milestone.
