(Sioux Falls, SD) — Jurors in Lincoln County are now hearing the details of what prosecutors call the deadliest crime in Sioux Falls in decades. Opening statements began Wednesday in the trial of 32-year-old Justin Rackley, who’s accused of murdering three people and injuring two others during a shooting last summer. Prosecutors say Rackley fired 13 shots in just 15 seconds, and he was captured on ring camera video holding the gun. One survivor told police, “That guy just shot my best friend.” But Rackley’s defense argues he wasn’t the shooter and says witnesses were too intoxicated to clearly recall what happened. The trial continues this week with more testimony and video evidence.
