(Moorhead, MN) — A Moorhead teen is recovering after his car caught fire during a demolition derby at the Becker County Fair in Detroit Lakes on July 25. Ayden Bernard suffered severe burns on the right side of his body. Initially taken to a local hospital, he was later airlifted to the burn unit at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. An update this week said Bernard’s face and ear injuries are healing nicely, while his right hand required surgeries.
