(Sioux Falls, SD) — U.S. Senator John Thune’s appearance at Saturday’s USS South Dakota Day of Honor draws criticism from a nearby rally. Thune was the keynote speaker for the event which was a tribute to the 80th anniversary of the end of World War Two and to the U.S. Navy’s 250th anniversary. A rally gathered across the street to voice criticism of Thune’s backing of certain policies such as the One Big Beautiful Bill. Organizers said the rally was to hold Thune accountable. The Senator said differing opinions are part of the political process.
