(Minot, ND) — A Surrey man is pleading guilty in connection with the 2023 death of an Air National Guardsman. Daniel Breijo is accused of shooting and killing 41-year-old Nicholas Van Pelt and wounding another victim in December 2023. Authorities have yet to release a motive behind the deadly shooting at a Minot apartment complex. Breijo is now expected to accept an agreement to plead guilty to manslaughter, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment. He faces up to 20 years in prison if the deal stands.
