WATERTOWN – Lake Area Technical College is hitting the road this fall with its 60th Anniversary Tailgate Tour. The tour will stop at 10 high school football games across the region and feature prize drawings, hands-on experiences, $1,000 scholarship awards and other activities for fans of all ages.
Lake Area Technical College President Tiffany Sanderson said the tour is a celebration of the school’s six decades of successfully preparing students for high-demand, high-value technical professions.
“At Lake Area Tech, we believe education extends beyond the classroom,” Sanderson said. “This tour is a fun way to connect with communities in our area, support student-athletes and showcase the fast and focused education available to students interested in jumpstarting their careers.”

- Friday, Aug. 22 — Redfield (H) vs. Leola-Frederick
- Friday, Aug. 29 — Northwestern (H) vs. Herreid-Selby
- Friday, Sept. 5 — Aberdeen Central (H) vs. Tea
- Friday, Sept. 12 — Watertown (H) vs. Pierre
- Friday, Sept. 19 — Deuel (H) vs. Groton
- Friday, Sept. 26 — Madison (H) vs. Sioux Falls Christian
- Friday, Oct. 3 — Hamlin (H) vs. DeSmet
- Friday, Oct. 10 — Sioux Valley (H) vs. Beresford
- Friday, Oct. 17 — Castlewood (H) vs. Deubrook
- Thursday, Oct. 23 — Milbank (H) vs. Madison
Founded in 1965 as South Dakota’s first technical college, Lake Area Tech has spent 60 years providing hands-on education in cutting-edge fields such as healthcare, advanced manufacturing, information technology, the trades, and agriculture.
