(Lisbon, ND) — A woman will spend over a decade in prison for a deadly crash in Ransom County. Amber Patel was sentenced to 12 years in prison yesterday after being found guilty of a fatal drugged driving accident in 2024. Sixty-seven-year-old Jerry Rufsvold was killed in the chain-reaction crash in Libson last August. Investigators found that Patel was under the influence of nine prescription drugs at the time of the incident. She pleaded guilty to all charges and was convicted of criminal vehicular homicide last April.
