(Sioux Falls, SD) — A Sioux Falls woman is indicted for buying a firearm that was later used in a shooting involving police. Authorities say Chardea Odom bought the gun for a convicted felon, though she claimed she was the buyer on the purchase papers. The felon used the weapon in a police-involved shooting. Police Chief Jon Thum thanked law enforcement partners for helping hold those responsible accountable, warning about the risks when guns get into the wrong hands. Odom pleaded not guilty and was released on bond. Her trial date is pending.
