(Mitchell, SD) — As Mitchell students head back to school today, they’ll be stepping into a brighter future thanks to a 33-million-dollar gift from the Musick [[ music ]] family. The donation will benefit both the Mitchell School District and Dakota Wesleyan University, funding free pre-K, after-school care, college classes for high schoolers, and stronger teacher training. Roger Musick, a Mitchell High alum, says the goal is to keep improving education in the community. School leaders say the impact has already begun and will last for generations.
