(Pierre, SD) — Pierre names a new top cop. Captain Dusty Pelle is set to become the city’s next Police Chief, taking over for Chief Jason Jones, who retires this fall. Pelle has been with the department for 21 years, serving in roles from patrol officer to detective to captain. He’s also worked on internet crimes against children and helped manage police records systems. Pelle officially steps into the chief’s role on November 8th and says protecting and supporting the community will remain his top priority.
