(New York, NY) — ESPN and Major League Baseball have reportedly reached a new media rights deal. The Athletic reports the deal would allow ESPN to offer MLB-dot-TV for out-of-market games through its direct-to-consumer streaming service that launched Thursday. ESPN would also get the rights to sell in-market games for five teams — the Arizona Diamondbacks, Cleveland Guardians, Colorado Rockies, Minnesota Twins and San Diego Padres. This comes after ESPN opted out of the last three years of its deal with MLB for Sunday Night Baseball, playoff games and the Home Run Derby. The deal is not expected to be finalized until next month.
