(Sturgis, SD) — Tax collections from this year’s Sturgis Motorcycle Rally are the second highest since 2021, bringing in over an estimated one-point-five million dollars. That’s a 13 percent jump from last year, thanks in part to a big increase in vendors which were up 32 percent from 2024. Most of the revenue came from state sales and tourism taxes, with the Northern Black Hills, including Sturgis, generating over one-point-one million dollars alone. The Southern Black Hills brought in more than 400 thousand dollars. The Department of Revenue says the strong vendor turnout and higher spending really helped fuel the increase.
