(Sioux Falls, SD) — A major South Dakota pharmacy chain is joining forces with one of the region’s biggest healthcare systems. Sanford Health is officially taking over all 60 Lewis Drug locations across South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota. Leaders say the longtime partnership between the two made this a natural next step. Lewis Drug will keep its name, employees, and customer experience, so shoppers won’t notice much change. But behind the scenes, the merger aims to strengthen access to pharmacy services, especially in rural communities. The deal is expected to be finalized this fall.
