(Kenmare, ND) — At least five North Dakota communities will receive state loans to upgrade their water systems. State officials began issuing the water system improvement loans this past March as part of the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund program. A new wave of loans was recently approved for infrastructure upgrades in West Fargo, Kenmare, Minot, Grafton, and Jamestown. Kenmare will receive 638-thousand-dollars to replace any cast-iron water mains with PVC, while Jamestown received nearly two-million-dollars early last month for cast-iron main improvements. The loans were provided by the State Department of Environmental Quality and the Public Finance Authority.
