Governor Armstrong Declares Statewide Disaster For August Storms

(Bismarck, ND) — Governor Kelly Armstrong has declared a statewide disaster after last month’s damaging storms. Yesterday, Governor Armstrong announced the declaration for damage suffered during the severe weather on August 7th and 8th. He noted that damages to the electrical infrastructure alone were estimated at nearly six-million-dollars. Officials now hope a presidential major disaster declaration will be made to receive federal funding for the recovery process.
