Northland Bus Services Driver Charged With DUI

(Minot, ND) — A bus driver accused of driving under the influence on the first day of school in Minot is now facing criminal charges. Authorities say 20 high-school-aged students had to be transferred to a different bus on August 20th after Tomas Podolski was reportedly driving while drunk. The man allegedly registered a point-two-one-four on a breathalyzer test after being taken into custody, which is nearly three times the legal limit. Podolski drove for Northland Bus Services, a third-party contractor that assists with transporting students to and from the Minot Air Force Base. He now faces up to one year in jail after being charged with one count of misdemeanor DUI involving a minor passenger.
