ND Confirms Bird Flu In Dickey County Turkey Flock

(Dickey County, ND) — The North Dakota Department of Agriculture has confirmed cases of bird flu in a Dickey County turkey flock. Officials announced yesterday that the first case in a commercial turkey flock was identified in the U.S. since early July. All domestic birds within a ten-kilometer control zone near the affected farm will now be contacted and monitored to prevent the spread of the virus. The NDDA says there is no immediate public health concern at this time, as no human cases have been detected in the state regarding the recent outbreak.
