(Fargo, ND) — North Dakota will need more power plants and transmission lines amid AI facility developments. North Dakota Transmission Authority Executive Director Claire Vigesaa says that a boom in development of data centers and crypto facilities across the country will eventually impact the state. This comes after Applied Digital’s three-billion-dollar development was approved near Harwood, just north of Fargo. A legislative committee is now examining the impact of large energy consumers, as more electric grid capacity will be needed to meet demands.
