NDDEQ Reports Oil Spill In Mountrail County

(Stanley, ND) — Environmental officials are monitoring an oil spill incident in Mountrail County. The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality recently announced that roughly 470 barrels of oil were released 13 miles southeast of Stanley. The incident happened at the Hunt Oil Company on August 29th. Officials believe 50 barrels impacted nearby farmland, but no public health warnings have been issued at this time. The environmental impacts will continue to be monitored as NDDEQ works with Hunt Oil on cleanup efforts.
