(North Dakota) — North Dakota drivers need to be extra-vigilant this month. Law enforcement across the state are increasing their patrols as part of a national safety campaign called “Put the Phone Away or Pay.” Data released by the North Dakota Department of Transportation for 2024 showed 936 distracted driving-related crashes occurred, with 12 fatalities and 43 serious injuries. Numbers for lane departure crashes due to distractions resulted in over 15-hundred injuries and 48 fatalities. NDDOT officials recommend to put the phone away and limit distractions.
