(Brookings, SD) — Three people are hurt after a small plane crashed and burst into flames at the Brookings Regional Airport on Saturday morning. Officials say the Beechcraft single-engine plane went down shortly after takeoff, nose-diving into the southwest corner of the airport grounds. All three people on board escaped before the plane caught fire, and were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The FAA and NTSB are now investigating.
