Gov. Rhoden Clarifies Arrest Numbers From Operation Prairie Thunder

(Sioux Falls, SD) — Governor Rhoden is clearing up confusion over arrest numbers from the South Dakota’s first Operation Prairie Thunder operation. Last week, he announced 174 drug arrests during the three-day patrol in Sioux Falls. But now he says that number referred to charges, not individuals, meaning the actual number of arrests is lower. Rhoden admits the reporting was unclear but insists the operation was still a success, and more patrols are planned. State officials say they expect to release the corrected numbers sometime today.
